The environmental benefits of planting trees

In 2021, the impacts of climate change are real. Unexpected and extraordinary heat waves caused numerous forest fires worldwide. In 2020, record amounts of CO2 were found in the atmosphere, estimated at around 417 parts per million.

Unfortunately, every year we observe record levels. Although lockdowns led to a slight decrease in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, they did little to reduce overall annual fluctuations. There is still an urgent need for change. Panda7 is dedicated togive backto our environment and to contribute to the fight against climate change. How? By planting trees.

How Does Tree Planting Mitigate Climate Change?

It can't be that simple, can it? Well, no—not quite. We need to do more in our daily lives to seriously reverse the course of the climate crisis, but planting trees seems like a good start. Indeed, we might be able to significantly reduce the severity of the climate change crisis by planting millions of trees that, as part of their natural process, would remove excess carbon from our atmosphere and produce clean oxygen for breathing.

Is it viable? In theory, it could be. The potential for restoring the Earth is enormous and could support an additional 25% of forested area. This, in turn, could significantly reduce the percentage of carbon in the atmosphere. Experts admit that it's not a cure for carbon emissions and the climate change crisis; however, this practice still produces a significant and encouraging impact.

Planting Trees May Be the "Economical" Solution

Renewable energy is certainly a trend among environmentalists due to its potential to reduce the use of fossil fuels and lower our overall carbon footprint, but this can come at a cost. Because renewable energy is not yet widespread, it may be a more expensive alternative that many people are not yet willing to pay for.

However, planting trees is not excessively expensive. Indeed, we have the necessary materials and expertise. Furthermore, this environmentally friendly practice can foster harmony among communities, encouraging them to come together and thus promoting the common good.

Furthermore, planting trees is an ecological mission that can be offered as employment to individuals wishing to work in the fight against climate change. Indeed, by contributing to the restoration of wooded areas and forests, these workers participate in a process of ecological preservation.

Nevertheless, a significant drawback must be considered in this greening effort. Indeed, many tree species require 50 to 100 years to reach full maturity, and therefore to reduce carbon dioxide. While this may be discouraging, this fact primarily means there's not a moment to lose! The sooner we plant trees, the sooner we can have a significant impact on the fight against climate change. This impact would essentially translate into the benefit of breathing clean air, drinking clean water, and enjoying healthy ecosystems.

Collective movement can encourage a community spirit.

Planting a tree is just the first step. Indeed, millions of trees would be needed to have a significant impact on the fight against climate change. This process cannot happen overnight, and it requires the efforts and awareness of the population. Thus, it is our duty to engage our communities—local and otherwise—in joining the heart of this fight against climate change, which is a struggle we all share! And this fight can begin by helping us build a forest by planting hundreds of trees, thereby reducing CO2 emissions, which would benefit all species and ecosystems on the planet.

Panda7 fosters a community spirit, as our clients and team prioritize the common good by working together. As a result, our actions can have a real impact on our environment and contribute to lasting change for years to come.

Trees are part of the solution to the climate crisis.

We know that trees benefit our environment. They remove some of the excess CO2 from the atmosphere and, through the process of photosynthesis, produce clean oxygen that we can breathe. Of course, they are only part of the solution, but underestimating their impact would be a mistake.

Panda7 encourages its satisfied customers to join the fight against climate change by submitting a quote or purchasing a policy. For every quote, we plant a tree, and for every policy purchased, we plant three! Thousands of our users have already joined our cause. But there's still a long way to go, and we need to continually redouble our efforts to highlight the global issues at stake.

We can make a difference every day by choosing to go green. This can include swapping reusable items for single-use ones, eating less meat, or starting a compost heap to reduce the amount of organic matter sent to landfills. Climate change may seem like an insurmountable battle, but with small steps each day, we can collectively have a huge impact! By making these changes, you can even encourage those around you to do the same.

Visit Panda7's Give Back page for more information on how we've partnered with Brynk.eco to plant trees for every quote received, and triple that for every policy purchased. Join our cause and see our commitment to planting 1,000,000 trees by 2030!
